Key Features of the Latest Acumatica Release
“This R1 launch continues the strong momentum from Acumatica Summit…We are continually honing and refining what many believe is already the single best Cloud ERP solution available today.” – Jon Roskill, CEO, Acumatica
Here is a more detailed look at a few of the exciting new improvements Acumatica as introduced with the 2019 R1 release, in each of the specific categories.
Significant improvements were made to the side panel. Now, to improve the user experience, it displays a view of the details of a row on an inquiry screen without leaving the screen. Another critical platform usability enhancement is the introduction of multifactor authentication for increased security.
General Business Applications
One of the new features of this release is a predefined list of currencies. This list reduces the effort in maintaining exchanged rates and managing transactions in multiple currencies. Another critical element is the application’s new support for different financial calendars. This provides additional support for contracts with numerous performance obligations.
The new project budget forecasts by period allow you to compare actual project costs and incomes with the forecasted, original and revised budget amounts for each financial period.
Industry Specific Enhancements
The updated Warehouse Management System (WMS) provides distributors, manufacturers, retailers and eCommerce firms support for medium and large warehouses with operations such as picking, packaging, PO receiving, putting away, transferring and physical counting by using barcode scanners (or mobile devices with a scanning option).
Also, in the 2019 R1 release, Acumatica Construction Edition includes enhancement and new features across Financials, Project Accounting and Project Management capabilities.
Acumatica Isn’t Slowing Down Anytime Soon
Acumatica Summit 2019, which we attended in January, had a record-breaking number of attendees. Over 1,500 people gathered to learn about how the usability and functionality of the solution is further enhanced in the newest release (Acumatica 2019 R1). One of the attendees was an analyst for Nucleus Research, Seth Lippincott. He went on to write a report on the future of Acumatica. (Nucleus Research provides insights into technology through in-depth research based on real-world ROI calculations.) He found, making the software easy to use was a key driver for all the new capabilities included in with the 2019 R1 Release. For example, on the reporting and business intelligence front, Acumatica highlighted how it is making it easy for customers to leverage services like Power BI and Tableau directly or through its ISV community. In his report following the summit, Lippincott writes, “Usability continues to be a focus for Acumatica, striving to make its software accessible to small and medium-sized businesses while offering scalability to answer the needs of larger organizations.”
