Digital Transformation is one of the biggest buzzwords on the market, but did you know 70% of people don’t actually know what it is?
Digital Transformation is using software tools, to increase your efficiencies by at least two. This can include reducing overhead, streamlining processes, have better visibility for decision making, and automating tedious tasks.
There are three components that are mandatory for successful deployment of Digital Transformation.
Your people need to not only be on board, but they need to understand the direction and plan. This isn’t one person’s job, each person in your organization plays a vital role in DT deployment. Not only is the team important, but champion employees are just as important, even if they aren’t fully invested in the project. The help with training, go-lives, and help reduce the panic that most certainly arises after cutover. Having a strong team, with solid leadership allows for success in this category.
Chances are, your current processes will change into newer more efficient ones. Building your existing processes is where it all begins, and from there you identify your current TCO, and inefficiencies. This is step two, you don’t buy your tool and then address this. Document, Document, Document. Find your levels of inefficiencies, and what it is costing you, then design your solution and calculate your ROI.
The final step is tools, you cannot deploy Digital Transformation without a tool. Hardware such as IoT devices, or software solutions are the obvious tools. In today’s video we mention, implementation methodology, as this tool is just as critical. Knowing which way to deploy your business solution, requires a unique approach which is different for each and every company. Our video covers two common methodologies, Agile and Waterfall. If you happen to deploy the wrong methodology, there is a high failure rate, as it will affect all three components with relation to DT.
With correct deployment, you will start seeing a Return on Investment, while you are still implementing.
