We just got back from Houston for the Acumatica Summit 2019 and we are filled with excitement about what this year has in store for Acumatica users and partners. For those who weren’t able to make it, we want to share a few of our highlights.
One of the main themes for Acumatica Summit 2019 is digital transformation – something that going to be an essential component of growth strategies for SMBs in 2019. The agenda for the Summit basically went as follows: days 1 and 2 were all about how real customers are doing unbelievable things with Acumatica, while also increasing their efficiency and their bottom line. On these days, speakers also unveiled how Acumatica is advancing new technologies like the natural language interface, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Days 3, 4, 5 were focused on providing attendees with a variety of sessions and trainings to choose from. Here are a few of our highlights from day 1 and 2 of the Summit.
Acumatica Summit Day 1 Highlights
Day one started with a reflection on Acumatica’s success in 2018, including garnering six awards (among them were, the SIIA CODiE Award for Best Cloud ERP Solution and Best Manufacturing Solution in 2018 and PC Mag Editor’s Choice for the Best Inventory Management Software of 2018 ). It was also announced that Acumatica received the PC Mag’s Editor’s Choice for Best ERP Solution for the third year running! With the successes of 2018 in mind, the speakers went on to discuss how Acumatica is preparing to lead the way in 2019 with innovative technology and top-notch customer service. Here are some of the highlights:
Exciting New Tableau Analytics Integration
One of the more popular announcements was the availability of Tableau analytics integration with Acumatica. This crowd-pleasing integration provides top-notch business intelligence technology, deep data insights, advanced analytics capabilities and what-if scenarios to Acumatica users.
Important New Multi-Factor Authentication Feature
One key new feature introduced on day one is, multi-factor authentication. With this feature, whether through text or SMS message or through a push notification, users are assured that they and their information are safe
More Industry Editions Coming
Going forward, Acumatica with its unified platform, consistent user interface, consistent set of APIs, and layers of modules (ex. finance, distribution, etc.) coupled with their editions (ex. Commerce, Field Service, Manufacturing, etc.), will provide users with additional editions, either directly from Acumatica or from one of their partners. It was also announced that Acumatica will be bringing new technology with AI and machine learning, including zero touch automation, interactive assistance and intelligent advisor capabilities.
Acumatica Summit Day 2 Highlights
Day two of the summit focused on Acumatica’s commitment to innovation in technology. CEO Jon Roskill shared that 74% of Acumatica employees are in R&D alone. The company proceeded to unveil a multitude of 2019 R1 demos highlighting product advances in usability, order management & inventory, financials, project accounting, and CRM. Acumatica Alexa for Business Skill
Acumatica VP of Platform & Technology, Ajoy Krishnamoorthy, demonstrated the usefulness of voice activated scenarios in business that Alexa for Business can fulfill, from looking up inventory, opportunities and contacts to approving expense claims. Based on the buzz in the room, it was clear that Natural Language input to retrieve or insert data into an ERP system could improve end-user productivity.
Acumatica Cloud ERP Connector for Microsoft Flow
Another announcement of interest was The Acumatica Cloud ERP Connector for Microsoft Flow. It allows employees to create and automate workflows and tasks across multiple applications, sync files, get notifications, collect data and much more.
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Capabilities
A preview of Acumatica’s work in the ML and AI fields was demonstrated that utilized Google Cloud Vision Product Search to lookup common items (in this case a pair of shoes) through a smartphone camera. This functionality holds great promise when searching for the right ingredient, component, or replacement part – especially in manufacturing scenarios.
