This fall, Acumatica 2018 R2 (the second of its biannual cloud ERP software updates), was released. Acumatica 2018 R2 includes significant enhancements to their industry-specific solutions, best in class modules and the Acumatica xRP Platform. The new feature set focuses on three strategic and business-focused areas: usability, customer satisfaction and compliance.

The emphasis Acumatica places on usability is not exclusive to their 2018 R2 update. In their 2018 ERP Technology Value Matrix report, Nucleus Research ranked Acumatica highest in Usability out of 22 ERP vendors. Rather than stop there, the Acumatica team continued to innovate and further increase the ease-of-use for end users.
One key usability development are the side panels in the updated software. The new side panels are presented as a column on the right-hand-side of the screen. They provide the user contextual information that automatically updates to reflect whatever the user selects. These side panels mean the user no longer needs to open new tabs or windows to access the information they need at a given moment. Users can even embed dashboards into side panels, making KPIs visible while viewing different areas of the application.
With the industry-leading usability improvements made in Acumatica R2 – users will continue to be satisfied with this software. Acumatica R2 boasts increased mobile functionality through improvements to push notifications, navigation and customization updates. These user-focused updates are designed to increase user’s efficiency and boost their business’ bottom line.
One key customer satisfaction development is the expanded push notification capabilities in the updated software. With this update, Acumatica helps users operate remotely, particularly in the field service vertical by automatically forwarding changes to work orders and project statuses to the responsive technician or employee in the field. The user can click these push notifications and instantly be brought to the relevant screen on their mobile device.
Most businesses are required to track regulatory compliance through spreadsheets and external databases, but as ERP systems have evolved, regulatory compliance tracking capabilities have improved. Acumatica’s software update gives users real time access to information and automation, making it easier than ever to ensure that regulatory compliance challenges are being not only met, but exceeded.
One specific compliance capability in Acumatica 2018 R2 is increased functionality to support ASC 606 compliance in deferred revenue recognition within the Financial Management edition. Automatic processing is another key compliance improvement—for example, now, when a check is issued, Acumatica links it to the Lien Waiver on the bill and pre-fills the amount.
The Acumatica 2018 R2 update includes more customer-recommended improvements to the product than any previous update, which goes to show how Acumatica continuously works closely with its customers to deliver functionality and usability improvements.
